I done did some more SM: Another Story edits. Many of these were edited from sprites by sailormoon-legends and bjnkute0905.

Blather below )

A combination of edited Fuwa Fuwa Panic mugshots and backgrounds/character select BG from the S/SuperS fighting games. Ended up not using any of these for myself, but maybe someone out there might like 'em? XD

(As for the one I did use: it took a bit of searching to find an image of Taiki more-or-less directly facing the camera. XD;)

So I sometimes like to edit sprites.

These were done over a period of two years; now that it's December '20, I figure I should post these somewhere.

Explanations and blather below )

Bonus: SM Drops edits I did featuring the Outers/Starlights pairings (the sprites themselves ripped by Soapbox). (Edit: now with a slightly more up-to-date link to Pillowfort instead.)

So, I've been collecting a lot of Sailor Moon stuff recently, as detailed in this diary what I wrote on MFC. I'm just gonna focus on the plushes I currently own for this post.

In addition to the five Great Eastern plushes in my Christmas stash (Ami, Michiru, Setsuna, Haruka, and Hotaru--civilian garb, not Sailors) and the four I bought myself (Uranus, Star Fighter, Luna, and schoolgirl!Minako), I grabbed a couple more old Irwin plushes to bring that sub-collection two steps closer to completion. The first was Sailor Uranus, 1998 jewel brooch version, and the second was Sailor Moon herself.

Sailor Moon is perfumey. Like, "knock you on your ass in one whiff from five feet away" perfumey. The problem is that I am sensitive to perfume.

I don't think it's anything I can't adjust to, but still. XD; Regardless of her overwhelming scent, I'm glad I got her, especially given the prices many people want for Irwin SM stuff (same for Uranus, who I got for around $24 and not $99). The only ones I'd need now to consider the team truly complete are Chibi Moon and Tuxedo Mask; maybe that Banpresto UFO catcher of Super Sailor Saturn to sub for the Saturn plush that Irwin never made.

So, remember when I was trying to give the non-offensive parts of "Wings of Love" the benefit of the doubt?..

Time to retract that. (CW: turns out Usagi Carter may have actively disliked, rather than been oblivious to, Haruka/Michiru) )

Not too long ago, I tried to resume reading Wings of Love, mostly out of curiosity for how the author envisioned the Silver Millennium. (I also saved every fic and poem, because my pack rat nature demands it and the site hasn't updated since 2011) I don't think I got far enough to definitely judge its quality, but man...

(IMPORTANT NOTE, as mentioned last time I discussed this series: it pairs canon lesbians Haruka and Michiru with dudes, and it's for this reason that I can't recommend it in good faith. I talk about this aspect some more under the cut.)

Unsorted thoughts )

Very early this morning, I bought the elusive SH Figuarts Sailor Saturn from another user at MyFigureCollection (Amazon and most sellers on eBay want $100+ for her, but this person had her listed for $45); that unsightly absence in the Outer Senshi will be corrected, and once I get Chibi-Moon for my birthday, I'll have the base forms of all the Senshi. So what better way to celebrate than to write about some SM-related things (whether previously constrained to my brain-meats or on the 'Net)?

Note: things may not be as exciting as advertised )

Conundrum

So, I recently found Usagi Carter's "Wings of Love" series (at least, I'm guessing that's the formal name) after coming across Alan Gutierrez's art for it at least a couple months prior. On the one hand, it's pretty long (around 44 stories, separated into three eras) and from what I can tell there's some interesting concepts.

On the other hand...canon lesbians Haruka and Michiru are paired with dudes. I hope I don't have to explain why that's a deal-breaker.

ETA: OK, so, I forced my way through "Looking Through Your Eyes", the first listed story in the Silver Millennium section, which combined the above issue with another, and I think anyone who wants to check this series out for themselves should be warned the other unpleasant thing it does.

Below there be nasty )
