So I sometimes like to edit sprites.

These were done over a period of two years; now that it's December '20, I figure I should post these somewhere.

Most of these are Another Story edits. Going by row:

1) The Sailor Guardians plus Chibi Chibi Moon with more accurate colours (AS's palette limitations are really noticeable if you look closely), and a trio prominent in one of my AU ideas--Sun (Erica Nemoto), Earth (Naru Osaka), and Cruithne (Yumeji Gekkohara). The latter three are touched up from when I posted AS edits on tumblr.

2) Another AU thing; this one's called "Sailor Moon Altverse" and uses the old English dub as a basis.

Most everyone's palettes are either based on concept art (Moon, Saturn) or original, but Uranus's and Pluto's were specifically borrowed from the fan-verse of one SetsunaKou. She gave different colours to a few other Sailors, too (ex. Chibi Chibi Moon was magenta and orange), but these two are the most prominent. It's also from her stuff that I learned of a set of pairings that I'll get into later.

3a) So the very first run of SM dolls made for the Western market gave all the Inners long boots...

3b) Toonmakers Inners, plus Queen Beryl, influenced by this fanart.

4a) Forward-facing Super Sailor Moon (only seen from the side in AS) and Super Chibi Moon (has some forward-facing sprites, but not standing-neutral). Plus Eternal Sailor Moon, whose wings were a right pain in the ass.

4b) Some older Chibiusa stuff.

5) There are not one, but TWO erotic Totally Not Sailor Moon mahjong arcade games; this row is of the characters from Bishoujo Janshi Pretty Sailor 18-kin. You play as Not Usagi, who has mahjong duels with the other girls; everyone should be listed here in opponent order.

6) The other game is Mahjong Sailor Wars; what's interesting about this one (which otherwise has a grody excuse plot of you playing as an evilton that the Sailors are trying to fend off) is the final boss, who isn't based on any of the Sailor Guardians. Oh, and the Moon expy is inexplicably not the penultimate opponent.

7) The Flower Angels, one of the more notable set of knockoff toys. L to R: Tulip, Daisy, Orchid, Rose, Lotus, and Lily (pretend that I typed "Angel" after each one).

8) Not Sailor Moon related, but done in AS style for the heck of it: most of the main cast of Seiyoku Gakuen Seraphita. This was a PC-98 game (with later Windows port/upgrade) with character designs and art by Makita Aoi, notable for their love of monoecious ladies. As such, most of Seraphita's cast is monoecious. Can you guess what got me interested* in this game?

L to R: Rei Kannagi, Kurumi Inukai, Yumeji Mioh, Ryouka Kido, Saruwata Noriko/"Non", Mayuri Ushijima, Aya Inomata (not pictured: their teacher and younger buddy whose names I don't know yet).

* [WARNING: Now, as much as I like the concept of Seraphita and its character designs...there is, unfortunately, some gross stuff involving the girls' underage tomgirl friend. Well, grosser than the baseline of "adult game set in a high school".]

9) The rest of these are Fuwa Fuwa Panic 1 and 2 edits, starting with the Outers in Super Form. They only appear in FFP1, with the Starlights effectively replacing them in the second game.

10) That set of pairings I mentioned above? OK, so, SetsunaKou and her sister HarukaKou ship the Outers with their Starlight counterparts, and these ships exist outside their personal site; a lot of what art I found treats the Starlights as male-by-default, but there is some F/F.

Michiru/Yaten is...okay. Ish. (As long as we aren't talking about the manga.) Setsuna/Taiki, I was initially iffy on but warmed up to. Haruka/Seiya is like trying to force the contact of an immovable object with an irresistible force, for there is no continuity in which they like or even tolerate one another...so naturally, it's the most popular of the three. :U

'tis some silly edits of them all interacting; you can tell which pairing I prefer.

11) Misc stuff: Venus and Uranus in jackets, Pluto in her weird Bandai US silver fuku, and another Pluto and Saturn in their SK colours (SK had the latter as indigo/bright red; possibly a mirror to Sailor Moon?).

Aaaaand here's a whole recoloured sheet of Gold/Green Uranus:

If anyone's wondering about Venus, SK really emphasized the orange to distinguish her from Gold Uranus, which works...most of the time.

Bonus: SM Drops edits I did featuring the Outers/Starlights pairings (the sprites themselves ripped by Soapbox). (Edit: now with a slightly more up-to-date link to Pillowfort instead.)
