The advantages to upgrading your monitor, part 2

'twas playing Rubicon earlier, and I think the differences in experience between my old monitor and the new one can be summed up thusly:

CRT: incredibly dark even with the brightness jacked up, the internal settings set to "really light" or so, and my room's lights turned off.

LCD: I can actually see things by default; also, HUD text is somewhat sharper. "Honk If You're An Underpaid Cyborg" was much easier to navigate this time.

The best part about having a better screen is seeing all those little hidden walkways in Rubicon. I know that during my first play through, I would run around in circles trying to figure out where I was supposed to go. Having a better screen helps a lot!
