Even having an idea of where his character arc will go later, I am incredibly amused by how, in his very first appearance, Raistlin might as well have neon signs pointing at him that read "DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY". Poor Caramon keeps trying to help him out and Raist is having none of it.
These're also the first e-books I've read in a long time (if ever); Mom and Dad had several Dragonlance novels that are currently sitting on my bookshelf, but they're all from later in the chronology. I'd like to thank my buddy Naus for pointing me towards a site archiving what looks like the entire Dragonlance series in .epub format, among other things.

Date: 2020-10-01 10:11 am (UTC)I also remember two people I know cosplaying as Raistlin and Kitiara, a lot of years ago, the writer was a guest at Lucca Comics and I remember making the magic staff for "Raistlin". I still have the splotches of the final varnish on the doors of my wardrobe.
And then having to take the staff to him meeting directly in Lucca, by train because at the time I still hadn't neither licence nor car. At the time cosplay was a novel thing (yes, that much time) and a girl with a magic staff with herself used to get strange looks. But at least "I'm going to the comics convention" was an accettable response. The locals now are used to the weirdest things. [For context: this is the country who had a lot of terrorist attacks involving trains and stations, the city where I live being the most infamous of them. But people were also much less paranoid at time.]
I remember arriving late, after a horrible trip, a torrential rain, and the friends nearly dragged me to the guest's place to show the author in person their cosplay!
Good times, nonetheless :D
Might catch the occasion to read these in the original language.
