Mundane updates, 10/15/19
Oct. 15th, 2019 11:39 am* My Nendoroid Hachisuka Kotetsu arrived today! (With bonus rubber strap gotten from pre-ordering him direct from GSC) 'tis three out of five starter swords owned now. It took about five days from his release in Japan, which is a pretty big improvement over previous orders; hopefully, figma!Saber won't take too long to get here, either.
* In other figure-related news: I bought figma Miku Hatsune 2.0 off another MFC user, so I've got that to look forward to. I've also resolved that my next purchase will be figma!Astolfo, but that's a ways off unless I get lucky.
* Cleaned off my Sailor Moon dolls and had them swap places with my Forces of Destiny dolls, and now I kinda wish I had at least Neptune and Pluto (Irwin made a Sailor Saturn doll and apparently a plush as well, but the former was exclusive to Canadian comic shops). Seeing the prices for Irwin SM dolls on eBay causes me much sadness. >.< Whyyyy did I not grab Neptune when I saw her in KB Toys...
Of the ones I own, Sailor Moon's hair ornaments need to be put back on somehow (maybe I can try giving her real odangos?), Mercury's leg needs reattaching, and Jupiter's other glove and hair ornament are missing, as are both of Mars's gloves. Mom helped me fix Wicked Lady's hair a couple days ago (the original rubber bands holding her bead-odangos done fell apart ages ago).
I mentioned plushes up there; I have Mercury and Jupiter. Are you thinking that those go for ridiculous prices on eBay, too?..
* So, remember when I noted that Hamacon was super-underwhelming this year?.. Well, all signs point to the con having actually gone defunct; neither the main site nor their Facebook page have updated to discuss the mini-con that usually happens in November. Which means there's no longer any anime cons close by us--all the remaining ones are in Birmingham or Nashville. Mrph.
* The basement is a little cleaner after our latest cardboard run, but I'm kinda worried that we're swiftly coming up against the point where we can't do anything without more shelves.
* That MCX Fireteam Osiris set I got a while ago had an incomplete Tanaka (the back half of her torso armour was missing); luckily, MEGA sent me a second figure, so I've got a proper Tanaka and I can eventually turn the other one into a different Spartan.
* In addition to all the other stuff I'm working on, I've got this idea for a sort of Marathon/RS-MM AU thing; premise is that Strauss has lured a bunch of androids to his lighthouse hideout, and Vince and Rock head in to spring everyone. I dunno if it'll actually go anywhere, but I at least want to write that down before I forget.

Date: 2019-10-18 11:21 am (UTC)I'm not sure if it was the Internet that did Hamacon in so much as doing the exact same thing with possibly-decreasing budgets every year. XD;
^^
Just as long as they can keep the arguing to a minimum. XD
