There seems to be a hole in the routine
Dec. 6th, 2018 08:51 amNormally when I crawl out of bed (whenever that may be, with my erratic sleep schedule), the first things I check online are my dA, e-mail, the Marathon Story Forums, the Pfhorums, and tumblr (dashboard first, then various blogs I have bookmarked). I haven't gotten to the lattermost yet.
There hasn't been much activity on my dash in the past few days (I don't even think the posts I wrote following the announcement got any notes), a few blogs I check have gone or will go on indefinite hiatus, and I watched at least one person (the lovely Lynne Triplett of Engelbaum/Spectramis Arts) bail out in almost-real time.
I'm probably gonna check in a minute, but still. Something tells me I'm gonna have to get used to not doing that.
...oh yeah. This may be old news (it was reported two days ago), but according to Vox and an anonymous site engineer who bailed out over all this, the recent TOS change was planned at least six months in advance and was about Verizon being able to advertise the site better, not dealing with the ulcer that was the pedo community; the app store fiasco just accelerated it. And with that goes what little doubt I'd tried to benefit the staff.
I'll probably write that "Marathon AU primer" post later.
