Fanficrants was worse than I remembered

general_radixWithout going into too much detail, and for the sake of brevity: I made the mistake of looking at that comm again, and discovered that they had a mod tag devoted to sneering at people who hate romanticized/eroticized incest. And the other mod tags on the posts that came up (latest was from '07) were pretty wince-inducing, too.
Makes me really glad that, while our current discussion of certain heavy issues isn't perfect, we can at least talk about these things at all. What would've happened if an actual survivor tried discussing this at ffrants circa the mid '00s? Would they have still taken a banhammer to the face?
(On a less severe note, a post that the mods apparently liked was by a dude who wanted men to be written better and for certain types of men to stop getting bashed in fic, which is all well and good...except he claimed that most men "are not going to be gushy and romantic and weepy-uke-ish", in the same post where he mentioned "the stereotype-breaker" as a type of dude he wanted to be treated better. But only "butch gay men" and femme straight dudes, apparently.)
