DeadJournal and Marathon

Checked the comments on that "welcome to DW, tumblr folks" news post. Saw someone mention DeadJournal. Looked it up; still exists. Entering "Marathon" into the interests search actually returned results...

Except I haven't yet found any actual Marathon-related posts. :U Maybe not that surprising, since DeadJournal is/was supposed to be for very personal stuff (described on the front page in a distinctly mid-00s edgelord manner) and I'unno how many folks actually used it for fandom stuff.

(Don't know if I should link, given the personal stuff mentioned above. I guess it's not too difficult for curious folks to go over and have a look)

The Marathon fandom always seemed to be a very rare breed. I had pretty much given up years ago of finding anything that did updates other than Hamish Sinclair's page. That is until I found you guys on AO3! ^_^

That is a shame. :/ ... I actually used to have a couple of DeadJournal accounts, but they were for OCs so they just have some weird IC entries in them. Definitely nothing about Marathon, alas. I think it had some RP people, but I never got very into journal RP so I don't know much about it.

I see! I don't think I even knew DeadJournal existed back when it was active...which is good, because if middle-school me got a DJ and present-me looked back on it, I'd have cringed myself into another dimension. XD;;

Found them! And yes, seems personal things and not game-related things (I just skimmed the first rows). Also quite old posts, at least the last visible one.
I'm not surprised, however: after all I have a fandom-specific nickname but I'm not always speaking about this particular fandom. Fortunately I'm old enough to have been adolescent before the internet became common knowledge or became a thing at all oh my I feel such a dinosaur eeek, I feel embarassed enough already! :D

Yeah; oldest ones I found so far were from '07.

(I'd say that I was pretty young before the Internet took off, too, but...that was in the '90s and my age was in the single digits. XD; )
